StarDeckWorkspace Strip
A place for the things that stay.
THE IDEA
A place for the things that stay.
Keep a video, a news panel, or a useful little app at the edge of your desktop while the rest of the workspace changes. A configurable side strip for the tools that should stay within reach.
Hyprland · Native windows · Desktop automation
One strip or a different one everywhere
Share a layout across workspaces or choose a separate set of apps, edge, width, and visibility for each.
Real windows, kept alive
Page between native app windows without closing them. Hidden audio keeps playing.
Leave room for actual work
Normal windows tile in the remaining space. Hide the strip or stop the service to restore the workspace.

WHERE IT STANDS
Where the work is today.
Built and tested on an Omarchy / Hyprland desktop. The current prototype targets one selected monitor and respects practical window-size limits.
The diagram illustrates the layout behavior, not an actual desktop screenshot.
